Even though there’s a lot of hype to take the h1n1 flu shot and even make it mandatory, no top-level politicians has taken it and President Barack Obama’s daughters have been forbidden to take it because of the “potential risk”, this was said by a Washington spokesman:

“President Obama’s school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. White House Press Secret More..ary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk.”

The H1N1 flue vaccine contains mercury and another chemical that is blamed for causing autism in children, the greatest autism jump in history happened in the late 1970’s in the USA when kids were given mandatory flu vaccines in schools during another flu scare in 1974.

CALIFORNIA — More than 1,000 FBI agents and police officers spread out through South Los Angeles, banging on doors before dawn Thursday in a crackdown against a gang implicated in drug dealing and violent crime, authorities said.

The sweep, the culmination of an 18-month investigation, resulted in several gun seizures and 48 arrests by late morning, authorities said. The suspects were handcuffed and taken to Exposition Park, where they waited in a parking lot to be bused to jail.

Thursday’s operation also took place in the midst of a nationwide series of raids against a Mexico-based drug cartel.   ARTICLE

San Francisco —- President Obama declared swine flu a national emergency, a move intended to give hospitals and other medical facilities more flexibility in coping with the possible surge of infected patients, public health experts said Saturday.

Swine fl has killed more than 1,000 people in the United states since April, according to the latest estimates from the Centers for Disease and Prevention, and infectious disease experts believe it has infected millions around the globe. In the Bay area, 58 people had died from swine flu as of Sept. 26, according to the latest information from the California Department of Health Services, Seven of those deaths occurred in San Francisco.

White house officials were quick to note that emergency declaration does not signify an increase in severity of the national H1N1 outbreak.    ARTICLE

The Department of Homeland Security has just reported that only 894 miles of this country’s 8,607 miles of America’s land borders, are actually being protected. The announcement came in the agency’s 2009 Performance Report.

While that admission is maddening, given the federal government’s recent history on border issues, it should come as a surprise to no one.

We have seen the Obama administration water-down the highly effective 287g program, covertly offer government funded healthcare to illegal aliens, and promise amnesty to illegal aliens.

Of course, the Bush administration was every bit as weak on the issue of controlling the border as are their successors.

In 2006, President Bush went on national television to announce his plan to send National Guard troops to the U.S/Mexican border. However, before he spoke to the American people, he called his Mexican counterpart, President Vicente Fox to reassure him that the border would not be “militarized.”

I looked at Ken with a raised eyebrow; he was not surprised because Simone, our 4-year-old daughter, had shared her sudden insight with him a few weeks earlier. When he told me about the exchange, it stoked one of my biggest fears—–that some day Simone will identify herself as white and cast aside her black heritage.

{snip} . . . It turns out Simone—and her observation about people and the cars they drive—-is common. Race is so complex that even when researchers have found willing participants to discuss race with their children, many didn’t follow through and dropped out of the research.

A quick summary on how we think about race and children has changed:

• Then: We assumed children didn’t notice race until we pointed it out to them.
• Now: Evidence shows children identify racial differences much like they see the differences between pink and baby blue—-two colors often used to distinguish girls from boys.
• Then: Like me, many parents figured children would get the “diversity” point after we exposed them to different races and cultures.
• Now: Researchers have found the more diverse the environment, the more likely children are to self-segregate.
• Then: Children often told about discrimination were less likely to see the relationship between working hard and achieving goals.
• Now: Black children who repeatedly hear messages of black pride are more interested in school and more likely to connect their success to their hard work and persistence.

Dallas police wrongly ticketed at least 39 drivers for not speaking English over the last three years, Police Chief David Kunkle announced Friday while promising to investigate all officers involved in the cases for dereliction of duty.

Pending cases will be dismissed, and those who paid the $204 fine for the charge, which does not exist in the city, will be reimbursed, Kunkle said.

“I was surprised and stunned that that would happen, particularly in the city of Dallas,” Kunkle said. “In my world, you would never tell someone not to speak Spanish.”

The citations were issued in several different patrol divisions by at least six different officers. One of those officers was responsible for five of the citations, Kunkle said.

The case that led to the discovery of all the others occurred Oct. 2, when Ernestina Mondragon was stopped for making an illegal U-turn in the White Rock area. Rookie Officer Gary Bromley cited Mondragon for three violations: disregarding a traffic control device, failure to present a driver’s license and “non-English speaking driver.” Source>>>

Defense Department to decide how it will determine association with a group and how it will decide what constitutes “active participation.”

The job of recruiters could get tougher as a result of a provision in the compromise 2010 defense policy bill that bars enlistment of anyone who has been an active participant in an extremist group.

This would include any groups advocating discrimination based on race, sex, creed, religion or national origin, especially if the group advocates to the use of violence — something recruiters will have to screen for if the bill becomes law.

Participation in such groups already is prohibited for current service members by regulation, but the compromise defense bill, HR 2647, also puts the prohibition into law.

The House of Representatives gave final approval to the bill two weeks ago and the Senate is expected to take the bill up in the next few weeks.

The rules will take effect 180 days after the bill is signed into law.

The restriction could have been even tougher. As initially passed by the House of Representatives earlier this year, the provision of the defense bill would have prohibited recruitment or retention of anyone associated with an extremist group, whether or not they were an active participant.

The House-passed plan called for the immediate discharge of anyone associated with a hate group. For current service members, the House plan had an exception from immediate discharge if a person had previously renounced their membership in a hate group. No exceptions were allowed for recruits who had been associated with hate groups, so even if they had renounced their membership they would have been barred from enlisting.

Additionally, there were concerns that the earlier proposal would have extended beyond extremists and supremacist groups — the chief target — to include criminal gangs involved in drug trafficking, the illegal sale of weapons and smuggling, according to a Congressional Research Service analysis.

As evidence of association with a hate group, the earlier House proposal would have accepted tattoos, e-mail or posting online, written material or attendance at meetings. Those evidence rules are dropped from the final bill, leaving it up to the Defense Department to decide how it will determine association with a group and how it will decide what constitutes “active participation.”

Generally, Defense Department policies have determined that active participation in an extremist group is any involvement that furthers the group’s aims, which could be leadership, organizing, fundraising or attending public meetings or demonstrations, even when off-duty.

The Defense Department rules apply to active and reserve forces.
