Thousands of people have taken part in events to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national bard.

The celebrations were led by First Minister Alex Salmond.

It also marked the launch of a year-long programme of events which the Scottish Government hopes will raise the country’s profile.

A procession took place in Dumfries and there were further events which took place in Alloway, Burns’ birthplace.

Sunday’s events began with Mr Salmond attending a church service in Alloway, while Culture Minister Linda Fabiani and the Duke of Buccleuch took part in another commemorative event in Dumfries.

Mr Salmond later attended a wreath-laying ceremony at a statue of Burns in Ayr and then went on to the Dumfries lantern procession attended by thousands.

The first minister quoted from the poem on BBC Scotland’s The Politics Show – a quotation which ended with the phrase “the man of independent mind looks and laughs at all that”.

A number of events and exhibitions took place at various locations in Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The day also marked the start of the “Homecoming 2009″ celebrations which will see more than 300 events being held across the Scotland until St Andrew’s Day at the end of November.

The Scottish Government is asking “affinity” Scots around the world to return home and join the celebrations with 100,000 tourists expected and a £40m boost to the economy.

Mr Salmond said: “Homecoming Scotland could not have got off to a better start with tens of thousands of people taking part in sell out events across Scotland, and around the globe.

“The 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns has been celebrated on a global scale and as it should be – with dancing, singing, laughter and of course the odd dram.

“I have no doubt that if he were here today, Robert Burns would make every effort to attend every single one of the 300 events we have planned across Scotland this year.

“And he would be delighted to see his year of birthday celebrations off to such a flying start.”

KNOXVILLE — A full federal appeals court refused Friday to hear a lawsuit by three Tennessee students threatened with suspension if they wore Confederate flag T-shirts.

In a dissenting opinion, however, the court’s chief judge suggested the case needed to go to trial.

Students Derek Barr, Craig White and Chris White argued that their free speech rights were violated by William Blount High’s ban on clothes with the Rebel flag, which is considered a symbol of racism and intolerance by some and an emblem of Southern heritage by others.

The students were threatened with suspension in 2006 amid growing racial tensions and violence at the majority-white high school in Maryville, south of Knoxville. Graffitti appeared threatening the lives of black students, fights broke out between black and white students and police were called in to lock down the school.

Barr and the Whites were not accused of participating in those activities, only of wearing Rebel flag clothing, which school officials viewed as “disruptive.”

In 2007, a federal judge issued a summary judgment in their case without a trial affirming the school dress code. A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati upheld the ruling in August. On Friday, that appeals court refused in a two-paragraph order to give full-court reconsideration.

However, Chief Judge Danny Boggs wrote that he was concerned that the facts of the case were still in dispute — whether there was a specific connection between the students’ flag clothing and school disruptions.

“The court says that evidence of disruption is ‘uncontested,’ but the record suggests otherwise,” Boggs wrote. “It should be left to a jury to determine whether this disagreement both constitutes a disruption and was sufficiently related to the Confederate flag to justify a ban.”

Boggs said a jury might be persuaded that Blount High officials were trying “to avoid political or public controversy” by suspending the students rather than trying to avoid school disruptions — “a reasoning not sanctioned” by previous court rulings.

“This is basically what I am going to say in my petition” to the U.S. Supreme Court, said Van Irion, a Knoxville attorney representing the students.

Irion said he was disappointed in the court’s decision Friday, but “I am more optimistic than I would normally be that the Supreme Court will hear this” because of Boggs’ dissent.

The Carinthian BZÖ has decided to buy the VW Phaeton in which former Carinthian Governor and BZÖ leader Jörg Haider died in an accident on 11 October 2008.

Carinthian BZÖ leader Uwe Scheuch said today (Mon) the party would pay the company the provincial government leased the car from 40,000 Euros. Scheuch called rumours tax-payers’ money might be used “shameful.”

Carinthian BZÖ Governor Gerhard Dörfler added it was important to keep the car in secure hands. “I want to keep the wreck until all investigations (into Haider’s death) have been completed.”

Dörfler cited the investigation into the assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy in 1963, which he claimed had failed to clear up what had really happened.

The Carinthian government had been considering an auction of the car. Dörfler said over the weekend he would probably have the car auctioned to the highest bidder. He estimated the car would fetch as much as 70,000 Euros – which would mean the BZÖ stand to make a substantial profit from the wreck.

The newspaper “Kärntner Tageszeitung” reported over the weekend the remainder of the money might be used to pay for a work of art linked to Haider’s fatal accident. That possibility is also now off the table.

Haider’s death in October was surrounded by controversy as was driving at twice the speed limit when he crashed after drinking heavily reportedly at a Klagenfurt gay bar. With his deputy Stefan Petzner’s tearful farewell to the “special man” in his life, rumours Haider had been a closet homosexual were rife.

One in five pregnancies in the small Brazilian town have resulted in twins – most of them blond haired and blue eyed

The Nazi doctor Josef Mengele is responsible for the astonishing number of twins in a small Brazilian town, an Argentine historian has claimed.

The steely hearted “Angel of Death”, whose mission was to create a master race fit for the Third Reich, was the resident medic at Auschwitz from May 1943 until his flight in the face of the Red Army advance in January 1945.

His task was to carry out experiments to discover by what method of genetic quirk twins were produced – and then to artificially increase the Aryan birthrate for his master, Adolf Hitler.

Now, a historian claims, Mengele’s notorious experiments may have borne fruit.

For years scientists have failed to discover why as many as one in five pregnancies in a small Brazilian town have resulted in twins – most of them blond haired and blue eyed.

But residents of Candido Godoi now claim that Mengele made repeated visits there in the early 1960s, posing at first as a vet but then offering medical treatment to the women of the town.

Shuttling between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, he managed to evade justice before his death in 1979, but his dreams of a Nazi master race appeared unfulfilled.

In a new book, Mengele: the Angel of Death in South America, the Argentine historian Jorge Camarasa, a specialist in the post-war Nazi flight to South America, has painstakingly pieced together the Nazi doctor’s mysterious later years.

After speaking to the townspeople of Candido Godoi, he is convinced that Mengele continued his genetic experiments with twins – with startling results.

He reveals how, after working with cattle farmers in Argentina to increase their stock, Mengele fled the country after fellow Nazi, Adolf Eichmann, was kidnapped by Israeli agents.

He claims that Mengele found refuge in the German enclave of Colonias Unidas, Paraguay, and from there, in 1963, began to make regular trips to another predominantly German community just over the border in Brazil – the farming community of Candido Godoi.

And, Mr Camaras claims, it was here that soon after the birthrate of twins began to spiral.

“I think Candido Godoi may have been Mengele’s laboratory, where he finally managed to fulfil his dreams of creating a master race of blond haired, blue eyed Aryans,” he said.

“There is testimony that he attended women, followed their pregnancies, treated them with new types of drugs and preparations, that he talked of artificial insemination in human beings, and that he continued working with animals, proclaiming that he was capable of getting cows to produce male twins.”

The urbane German who arrived in Candido Godoi was remembered with fondness by many of the townspeople.

“He told us he was a vet,” said Aloisi Finkler, a local farmer interviewed by Mr Camarasa. “He asked about illnesses we had among our animals, and told us not to worry, he could cure them. He appeared a cultured and dignified man.”

Another farmer, Leonardo Boufler, said: “He went from farm to farm checking the animals. He checked them for TB, and injected those that were infected. He said he could carry out artificial insemination of cows and humans, which we thought impossible as in those days it was unheard of.”

But the Nazi eugenicist did not concentrate on animals alone.

A former mayor and town doctor, Anencia Flores da Silva, set out to try to solve the town’s mystery. He interviewed hundreds of people, and discovered one character who crept on cropping up: an itinerant medic calling himself Rudolph Weiss.

Dr da Silva said: “In the testimonies we collected we came across women who were treated by him, he appeared to be some sort of rural medic who went from house to house. He attended women who had varicose veins and gave them a potion which he carried in a bottle, or tablets which he brought with him. Sometimes he carried out dental work, and everyone remembers he used to take blood.”

The people of Candido Godoi now largely accept that a Nazi war criminal was an inadvertent guest of theirs for several years in the early 1960s. The town’s official crest shows two identical profiles and a road sign welcomes visitors to a “Farming Community and Land of the Twins”. There is also a museum, the House of the Twins.

While the twins birthrate varies widely in different countries, it is typically about one in 80 pregnancies – a statistic that has left Mr Camarasa certain in his claim that Mengele was successfully pursuing his dreams of creating a master race, a real-life Boys from Brazil.

“Nobody knows for sure exactly what date Mengele arrived in Candido Godoi, but the first twins were born in 1963, the year in which we first hear reports of his presence,” he said.

Despite war, smallpox, building booms, and fires, the kindred plagues of most early American cities, Alexandria had grown. Ships of many flags tied up at its ample wharves. Fishermen brought thither their weighty catches from the lower stretches of the river. A town hall Alexandria boasted, a market place, a Library even, and a jail atop whose chimneys stood grim pikes where once the town had set in lasting warning the heads of slaves who had preached insurrection. In her prosperity the city abandoned wooden building dwellings for enduring brick, but in her thrift she allowed herself few gardens. At some of her corners deep wells rewarded with clear water those who would tug at the complaining windlass. Buried cannon, placed there before the Revolution, marked other crossings. There were oil lamps on the streets, and in each ward the town paid a watchman to go the rounds every night, to cry the hours, and to make the drowsy burgher glad of his shelter by telling him in loud tones how hard the wind was biting. And if fire broke out, was not the Friendship Company ready to race to the flames with its engine? Did not each member of the Sun Company hasten with his two leather buckets and with his two-bushel Osnaburg bag, in which to store salvaged valuables?

1) King was a practicing Communist

It was not some “right-winger” who had King’s office and hotel rooms bugged. This order was signed by then U.S. Attorney General Bobby Kennedy on Oct. 10, 1963. Evidence proved that King was under the direct orders of Soviet spies and financed by the Communist Party. The Kennedy tapings continued for 5 years and also developed shocking revelations regarding King’s sexual practices.

African American, Bayard Rustin is a former organizer for the Young Communist League. He spent 60 days in a California jail on a 1953 conviction for performing lewd homosexual acts in public. He also served 28 months in prison for draft evasion. Today Rustin is paid by Jewish organizations for use of his name as a “signer” of ads urging “Black-Jewish Unity.” He was King’s secretary and advisor from 1956 to 1960. During this period Rustin attended the National Convention of the Communist Party in 1957 as an “honored observer.” King called him a “a brilliant, efficient, and dedicated organizer.” It was Rustin who introduced King to a Soviet spy named Stanley D. Levison. He was a New York Lawyer and vice-president of the N.Y. Council of the American Jewish Congress. Levison’s job was to launder the $1million subsidy Soviet Russia gave to finance the U.S. Communist Party. Levison proved important financial, organizational and public relations services for King. After King’s death his wife, Coretta Scott King described Levison’s role as, “always working in the background, his contribution has been indispensable.” Levison wrote an obituary for King and described America as a “nation tenaciously racist… sick with violence…and corrosive with alienation. The civil rights liberation struggle is the most positive and rewarding area of work anyone could experience.”

The money which the Soviet Union funneled to Levison came from a Jew named Isidore G. Needleman.  He was a KGB secret police agent who fronted as an officer of AMTORG, the trading company in New York City which buys U.S. goods for shipment to Russia.  There are so many Jews in the Communist Party the FBI hired two Jewish brothers, Morris Childs and Jack Childs as spies planned inside the Communist Party.  For 30 years, Morris Childs was formerly a member of the National Committee of the Communist party and once served as editor of the Daily Worker.  Childs reported that after the death of the Jew William Weiner, who was treasurer of the Communist Party, it was Stanley Levison who took over this vital post.

In 1945 the International Labor Defense and the National Federation for Constitutional Liberties merged with the Marxist inspired National Negro Congress to form the Civil Rights Congress (CRC). The CRC was led by an open black Communist lawyer by the name of William L. Patterson who defended minority hoodlums and left wing radicals.  King knew, respected, and worked with Communists including members of the Communist Party USA. He was an admirer of Ben Davis, a fellow native of Atlanta who was elected “the first Communist Councilman from Harlem.” He certainly admired William L. Patterson, a Communist leader nicknamed “Mr. Civil Rights.”

The photo above of King is extremely important as it identifies King with Carl and Ann Branden. They are lifelong Communist Party activists out of Louisville, Kentucky.  Both were leaders in SCEF, Carl Branden was convicted of criminal sedition in 1954. He and his wife purchased a home for blacks in a white neighborhood to incite racial violence.  Later they were charged with bombing the same house to win sympathy for their cause and to raise money.  Ann Braden today is a founder of the Atlanta based “Center for Democratic Renewal” which smears Conservative patriots.

The photo taken below was on Sept. 2, 1957 of King attending the Highlander Folk School which the Communist Party operated at Monteagle, Tennessee Identified in the picture is No. 1 King, No. 2, Abner Berry, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and writer for the “Daily Worker,” No. 3, Aubrey Williams, Communist Party agent and president of the Southern Conference Educational Fund (SCEF) a red front organizing blacks in southern states. No. 4, Miles Horton, head of the Highlander Folk School King was listed on the schools’ letterhead as a “sponsor.” The Highlander school was financed by the Julius Rosenwald Fund. At one time Rosenwald headed Sears Roebuck Co. He spent $22 million financing civil rights groups. His daughter Edith Stern continued to give money to the SCEF and Highlander Folk School after her father’s death. Her husband, Alfred stern of New Orleans, fled to Russia just before he was to be arrested on spy charges.

Communists Promoted King

A number of communists who left the party have reported they were ordered to do all within their power to support King’s activities.  A black woman, Julia Brown, was a Communist in Cleveland for nine years.  She said”

“We were told to promote King, to unite Negroes and Whites behind him, and to turn him into a sort of national hero . We were to look to King as the leader in this struggle, the Communists said, because he was on our side. While in the party I learned that King attended a communist training school, that several of his aides were communists and that he received funds from Communists and took directions from them. He was one of their biggest heroes.”

The U. S. Congressional Record of March 30, 1965 quotes Karl Prussian, an FBI counterspy inside the Communist Party as swearing: “At all of these (Communist Party) meetings Rev. Martin Luther King was always set forth as the individual to whom Communists should rally around… King has either been a member of, or willingly accepted support from over 60 Communist fronts… King accepted support from communist fronts , individuals and organizations which espouse communist causes.”

2) King was a Plagiarist

King’s essay, “The Place of Reason and Experience in Finding God,” written at Crozer, pirated passages from the work of theologian Edgar S. Brightman, author of “The Finding of God.”

Another of King’s theses, “Contemporary Continental Theology,” written shortly after he entered Boston University, was largely stolen from a book by Walter Marshall Horton.

King’s doctoral dissertation, “A Comparison of the Conceptions of God in the Thinking of Paul Tillich and Harry Nelson Wieman,” for which he was awarded a PhD in theology, contains more than fifty complete sentences plagiarized from the PhD dissertation of Dr. Jack Boozer, “The Place of Reason in Paul Tillich’s Concept of God.”

According to “The Martin Luther King Papers“, in King’s dissertation “only 49 per cent of sentences in the section on Tillich contain five or more words that were King’s own….“!

In “The Journal of American History“, June 1991, page 87, David J. Garrow, a leftist academic who is sympathetic to King, says that King’s wife, Coretta Scott King, who also served as his secretary, was an accomplice in his repeated cheating. (“King’s Plagiarism: Imitation, Insecurity and Transformation,” The Journal of American History, June 1991, p. 87)

Reading Garrow’s article, one is led to the inescapable conclusion that King cheated because he had chosen for himself a political role in which a PhD would be useful, and, lacking the intellectual ability to obtain the title fairly, went after it by any means necessary. Why, then, one might ask, did the professors at Crozer Theological Seminary and Boston University grant him passing grades and a PhD? Garrow states on page 89: “King’s academic compositions, especially at Boston University, were almost without exception little more than summary descriptions… and comparisons of other’s writings. Nonetheless, the papers almost always received desirable letter grades, strongly suggesting that King’s professors did not expect more….” The editors of “The Martin Luther King Jr. Papers” state that “…the failure of King’s teachers to notice his pattern of textual appropriation is somewhat remarkable….“

But researcher Michael Hoffman tells us “…actually the malfeasance of the professors is not at all remarkable. King was politically correct, he was Black, and he had ambitions. The leftist [professors were] happy to award a doctorate to such a candidate no matter how much fraud was involved. Nor is it any wonder that it has taken forty years for the truth about King’s record of nearly constant intellectual piracy to be made public.”

Supposed scholars, who in reality shared King’s vision of a racially mixed and Marxist America, purposely covered up his cheating for decades. The cover-up still continues. From the “New York Times” of October 11, 1991, page 15, we learn that on October 10th of that year, a committee of researchers at Boston University admitted that, “There is no question but that Dr. King plagiarized in the dissertation.” However, despite its finding, the committee said that “No thought should be given to the revocation of Dr. King’s doctoral degree,” an action the panel said “would serve no purpose.”

No purpose, indeed! Justice demands that, in light of his willful fraud as a student, the “reverend” and the “doctor” should be removed from King’s name.

3) “Reverend” King was a Sexual Pervert, Adulterer, Race mixing,Tyrant

One of King’s closest friends, Rev. Ralph Abernathy acknowledges in his autobiography that King had a “weakness for women” and indulged in extramarital affairs with White prostitutes.  The Bible calls those “extramarital affairs” ADULTERY!  “Reverend?”  I think not.  Yet, tragically, professed “Christian” African Americans still reverence a shameless adulterer.  King lived in open abominable adultery and made no apologies for it.  No immoral Communist should have a national holiday celebrated in honor of him.  This is a clear indication of how apostate America has become.

It is widely known that King was a womanizing adulterer. Under the order of U. S. Attorney General Bobby Kennedy, the FBI wired King’s offices, and hotel rooms from 1963 to 1968. These tapes notably records his transactions with communist agents, but also wild interracial sex orgies which included acts of perversion. King’s aids would use tax exempt money donated to his southern Christian Leadership conference to hire White prostitutes to perform sexual acts with him. King often would use two prostitute at the same time. These shocking tapes were ordered sealed for 50 years by U.S. Federal Judge John Smith Jr. on January 31, 1977. In other words we will not be able to learn all the gory details until the year 2027. some 90 congressmen, led by the late rep. Larry McDonald, urged Congress to find out what was on these tapes before they approved the disgraceful King Holiday Bill. A cowardly and spineless Congress voted 338 to 90 approving the King Holiday.

Still, many have been able to learn some of the shocking incidents recorded in the King tapes. Washington’s old Willard Hotel was the scene of King forcing White women to drink “black Russian” and performing sexual acts with him. In Las Vegas King’s aids paid $100 each to prostitutes to join him in orgies.  In New York city King got drunk and threatened a young White girl working for civil rights to submit to his strange sexual tastes or he would jump from the 13th floor window.  She succumbed to prove to loyalty to King.  In Norway, King was nude when stopped by police while chasing a woman down a hotel corridor.  In Los Angeles a dentist supporter of King was outraged when he discovered his wife engaged in weird sexual acts with the civil rights leader.  King was forced to flee the city after the dentist threatened to kill him.  This escapade was taped on February 20, 1968.  The following April someone else would shoot King.

It has been well-documented that King was a serial adulterer and womanizer.  Here is an account of just one night—the night before his assassination—as recounted in Ralph Abernathy’s 1989 autobiography, And the Walls Came Tumbling Down. (Abernathy was a close friend of King’s and was with him that night).

• King gave a rousing speech (“I’ve Been to the Mountaintop”);
• King then had dinner with a White woman afterward and remained with her till 1 AM
• King came back to his motel to spend the night with a second woman.
• In the early morning hours a third woman came looking for King and became angry when she found the bed in the room he shared with Abernathy unoccupied.
• When King reappeared, he argued with woman #3 and wound up knocking her across the bed.

He openly incited violence under the banner of “nonviolence.”  King led a bizarre sex life which included acts of shocking perversion.  On Jan. 31, 1977 Coretta Scott King obtained a federal court order sealing for 50 years 845 pages of FBI records about her husband, “because its release would destroy his reputation!” voted to make King’s birthday a national holiday. In all true honesty the Blacks have been given false leaders to believe in such as King, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and now Obama. All of these low lives have lied to the Blacks. Sharpton and Jackson should be tried by the court system for embezzlement. They have fleeced corporations such as Toyota crying racism for not hiring enough Blacks in their corporation, while padding their own pockets from many of these efforts. Both of these so called reverends, Jackson and King, are adulturists.Jackson having fathered an illegitimate child.

The word revere is in the word reverend. There is NOTHING to revere in any of these worthless men!

One must ask why is it that, PROVEN honourable Presidents of the United States must all share one day as President’s Day yet a Communist, lying, race mixing, adulteress, plagiarist commoner Black such as Martin Luther King receives a Federal holiday!?  Solution, the King Holiday act must be repealed and the files opened to reveal the truth!!  If he were a noble man his records wouldn’t have to be sealed.

Keep this in mind as we approach the most Treasonous day in American history tomorrow, the Inauguration of an illegal Communist Kenyan Barack Obama. Obama is a modern day equivalent of King, He shares many of the same characteristics such as a Communist and his Birth records sealing the truth as King’s true identity has been sealed.
